As we approach the crazy season of exams we think of all those swimmers taking internal and external exams. Specifically, those currently sitting Y6 National Curriculum Assessments (SATs) and for those Y11, 12 and 13 taking GCSE, AS and A2 level papers in the coming weeks.
Research carried out at the University of Edinburgh states that:
...."physical activity can have both immediate and long-term benefits on academic performance. Almost immediately after engaging in physical activity, we are better able to concentrate on tasks which can enhance learning. "
So be sure to keep up the training as much as you can.
About the Club
Lichfield Swimming Club was founded in 1968. It is now a club with over 100 active members, with ages ranging from 7 upwards. In recent years LSC has engaged in a programme of rebuilding under the combined efforts of the Club committee, drawn from the parents of swimmers past and present and a growing team of qualified coaches and teaching staff.
The Club prides itself on its competitive achievements and recruits new members on the understanding that they will represent LSC at galas if selected. There is also a keen focus on the social aspects of membership in order to foster long-term relationships with the Club and to provide swimmers with a healthy and safe environment in which to develop their social skills. LSC is a friendly club, and encourages swimmers to be the best they can be.
This website gives you information and help about the club, but can also be useful for swimmers who have already joined. If you would like to enrol your child or yourself, each and everyone is welcome. Don't forget: Together Everyone Achieves More!
